Author Jill Jonnes celebrates urban trees and their contributions to city life in ‘Urban Forests – A natural history of trees and people in the American cityscape,’ and praises the people who have nurtured and protected our trees over the past centuries. Jill Jonnes was named a National Endowment for the Humanities scholar and is the author of Conquering Gotham, Empires of Light, and South Bronx Rising. Ms. Jonnes’ talk will be at 7:00 pm April 11, 2018 at the University of Kentucky, Institute for Sustainability & The Environment Building, 504 Rose Street, Room 228, Lexington, Kentucky.

The Urban Forest Initiative is again developing an URBAN FOREST INITIATIVE SEMINAR SERIES for the 2017-2018 academic year. All public lectures will be held at 7:00 pm, and are free and open to the public.
